In 2014, Shanghai Cable TV Industry Co., Ltd. merged and reorganized and changed its name to Shanghai Media Tech Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SMT), which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SMG and injects the operational resources of SMG Technology Operation Center. 

Taking advantage of the revolution and development of radio and television industry over the past 30 years, SMG Technology Operation Center and SMT has been constantly integrating broadcasting technical resources in Shanghai. Developing from a comprehensive operation and security department in charge of traditional broadcast, production, transmission and scientific research for radio and television, SMT has gradually transformed into a fusion media production platform, supports the production of media content, promotes the development of IT technology and all-media technology, and strives to become the most influential media technology service provider in China. 

SMT's main business covers four major areas of transmission, production, technology and integrated services. It not only provides a full range of technical support and services for SMG's program centers and subsidiaries, but also cooperates with some Global media giants such as BBC, NHK, ABC, KBS, and Star Media. In addition, SMT has maintained good relations with EBU, French satellite service company--Globecast, UK broadcast integrator--Gearhouse Broadcast, Hong Kong PCCW, China Telecom, China Aerospace, China Satellite Corporation and other top industry organizations. 

SMT continues to expand new media broadcast control platform, next-generation CDT, high-end broadcast production, equipment platform, industry solutions, integrated marketing, technology ecosystem and other new business, and has extensive experience in the production and broadcast of radio and television programs, and live technical operation and maintenance for large-scale events and important conferences.
